Santa Cruz, Tenerife, arguably holds one of the largest carnivals in the world behind Rio Carnival. During the day you may feel that you are in another ordinary city, but during the night, the streets are transformed into parade routes and areas.
Pageantry, parades and a party atmosphere engulf this city for an entire week and to end the celebrations a massive parade takes place on Shrove Tuesday at 4pm lasting all the way through the night with after parties.
